Caracal planned our dream holiday: trekking Mt. Kilimanjaro, a 10-day-Safari, one week on Zanzibar. We fully recommend!
We booked a five week trip with Caracal incl. trekking Mt. Kilimanjaro, a 10-day-safari and one week on Zanzibar. The whole holiday exceeded all expectations, creating the holiday we dreamed about. During the planning process all our requests were met and every single question was answered quickly and every problem during the trip was handled very professionally. We hiked Kili via the Machame route which was a great recommendation and an experience we will never forget. Our guides, James and Rama, were very experienced and deserve a big thank you for pushing us to the peak! The whole team was working together perfectly, so we didn't have to worry about anything but the challenge of the hike. Everything was taken care of and we always had the best space for our tent and meals according to our needs. We wouldn't have made it to the peak without our mountain-family. The route for the safari was planned perfectly starting at Arusha NP and Lake Manyara through Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater, and ending in Tarangire NP. The selected lodges were charming and very well picked. We were fortunate enough to have Ben as our safari guide. He is a real expert and passionate guide who has a lot to tell about wildlife and Tanzania in general. Thanks to his expertise we saw a lot of different animals in various scenarios, including the big 5. Every day held a new, surprising moment for us and we felt very well cared for. For our last week on Zanzibar they picked a beautiful lodge in Jambiani where we had a very relaxing week. It was raining the first days there. This made them really worried about how we felt, so they really cared about every single thing. 3-in-1 holiday to Tanzania
We went to Tanzania on our honeymoon and what a fantastic choice it was. Ben and Marion listened carefully to our wishes and created a beautiful route. First of all, we climbed Kilimanjaro together with Ben, what an experience that was! It was also very nice to get to know Ben before he became 'our guide' of the safari. After the climb we went on safari where Ben showed us a lot of beautiful nature and animals. We encountered the Big Five plus the cheetah. Thanks to Ben's experience and explanation, the safari became a great success. Finally we recovered in Zanzibar. This was also fantastically arranged. Caracal Tours and Safaris knew exactly what would make our holiday a success and delivered. Thank you for our 3-in-1 holiday, we enjoyed it. Amazing Mount Meru Trekking
We had an amazing trekking to Mount Meru! Everything was well organised by Marion and Ben, even in a short time (as we booked only 3 days in advance). With his experience and humor, the mountain guide James made sure that we always felt safe and happy. He is very attentive and noticed it as soon as someone was feeling unwell. Unforgettable holiday
We had an unforgettable holiday in Tanzania. The trip was well organised, beautiful areas, lots of game, well-maintained lodges and delicious meals, also in the parks. We had a good and friendly guide, who saw even the smallest animals and took us to many beautiful places. Thank you Ben. Unforgettable Safari in Tanzania
Our five-day safari with Caracal Tours & Safaris exceeded all expectations, creating an unforgettable and perfectly tailored adventure through Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. We were fortunate enough to have Ben (owner) as our safari guide for he is a true wildlife expert and passionate guide who will thoughtfully answer any questions you might have about wildlife or Tanzania in general. The depth of his knowledge and care he provides made for a memorable experience. Thanks to his expertise we saw ALL of the big 5!! Ben knew exactly how to position the vehicle for great photos and tracked animals effectively to assure we'd see as many as possible in the most unique situations. We saw leopards perched in trees, lions devouring carcasses, cheetahs hunting, buffalo posturing at lions, and even a black rhino from a distance! The accommodations arranged by Caracal were beautiful, comfortable, and had a nice mix of local and international foods. Very nice trip
While looking for a beautiful safari trip in Tanzania, we came across Caracal and after seeing the positive reviews, we decided to book directly. We communicated our wishes to Marion and she quickly came up with a program that suited us perfectly. Contact from Tanzania was very good and fast. When we arrived in Kilimanjaro, Ben, our guide for these 14 days, was already waiting for us. All accommodations were super nice, good beds, clean, beautiful locations, very good food and very friendly staff. Our guide and driver Ben met all expectations, because everything in the previous reviews was completely correct. Ben is a cheerful and humorous man who likes to joke around, has really good eyes and sees everything, has a lot of knowledge about the animals so that you also get the necessary information during a game drive, and is also a very good driver, and you you are very safe in the car with him. The country of Tanzania is very beautiful, with beautiful people and you feel welcome everywhere. We saw many animals during the multiple game drives, lions, elephants, various birds, leopards, cheetahs and much more other wildlife. A trip you will never forget!
We, André and Ilse, returned home last week from a wonderful 19-day trip with Caracal Tours & Safaris. We drove with Ben through the various game parks, Enduimet, Serengeti, Lake Natron, Ndutu, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire. We were usually on the road all day and saw a lot of beautiful animals. Ben saw most of them first. He even saw the smallest bird sitting in a tree. The lodges and tented camps where we spent the night were fantastic. Beautiful accommodations, delicious food and all the staff were equally friendly and helpful. Both during the day and during the evening safaris we also saw a number of animals that you are less likely to encounter, such as serval, genet, porcupine, striped hyena and even a caracal. Safari in Northern Tanzania, culture/ nature and Zanzibar

A perfect experience
Marion Sumari-de Boer and colleagues from Caracal Tours & Safaris planned an excellent trip for our family of 5, with the youngsters' age ranging from 16-20. It was a good balanced between travel, overnight stay and day trips. In most places we wished we could have stayed longer, but each time there was a new adventure around the corner. We stayed in both lodges and tent camps, which provided a good mix of luxury and adventure. We always felt safe and the drivers hired by Caracal Tours were capable professionals. We spent most time in the pleasant company of our guide and driver Richard, a very experienced, knowledgeable guide with a calm but decisive driving style, who is well-respected by his colleagues. Gamedrives Tanzania
Wij hebben 2 weken met Ben van Caracal diverse gamedrives gemaakt. Om op de diverse parken te bereiken, hebben we lange ritten gemaakt door het binnenland van Tanzania. Ben is een kundige en ervaren guide, waardoor hij zijn truck altijd op de juiste en vaak zelfs unieke plek positioneert. Ook beschikt hij over egale-eyes, waarmee hij zelfs tijdens het rijden over moeilijk begaanbare wegen dieren spot die wij niet zien. Ben heeft humor en is een bijzonder prettig persoon. Wij hebben Arusha NP, Lake Manyara NP, Serengeti (midden en noord), Ngorongoro Krater en Tarangire NP bezocht. Naast de big five (6 luipaarden!) hebben we ook 3 keer de oversteek van de gnoes gezien. Ben geeft geen garanties, alleen voor nijlpaarden. Hierdoor werden onze verwachtingen bijgesteld, maar als je de dieren dan ziet….kippenvel. Tussen de parken door maakten we lange ritten. Ben vertelde veel over het leven in Tanzania. Hierdoor pikten we ook een stukje cultuur mee, erg interessant. De gekozen lodges waren perfect, de een nog mooier dan de andere. Heerlijk om s’avonds na een intensieve dag bij te komen op een prachtige locatie. Vooral door Ben hebben wij geweldige ervaringen mogen opdoen. Onze reis was indrukwekkend, overweldigend en uniek.
